Conditions for Success
Every learner will succeed when their environment allows them to experience:
Every child wants to succeed. Every child wants to fit in. Every child wants to be liked and be likeable.
To achieve this, some children need support that is better tuned into their strengths, and intervention that recognises the child has a problem or expectation that they cannot solve or meet.
If a child is struggling to engage in school, they probably have un-solved problems and they feel trapped or stuck. They may feel scared or are hurting.
They need adults to help them find or co-create solutions to the problems, then the child will be able to behave in ways that allow them to feel safe, like they belong, like they are understood and they are cared for.
- Feeling safe
- Feeling like they belong
- Believing they are understood and cared for
- Being met at their point of need with trusted adults supporting their strengths and challenges

Success with Yarra Me School
Three crucial conditions must be met to achieve strong, positive and sustainable outcomes:
In combination, these conditions prove immensely powerful and influential.
If any one of these conditions is not met, the positive student outcomes are likely to either be less strong, less positive, and/or short-lived.
Thus, the success of the students, families and schools is determined by the strength of the commitment we share.
