Professional Learning@YarraMe

Building Teacher capacity for inclusive education

YarraMe School promotes inclusive practices for students with special needs. We support mainstream schools by equipping education professionals with the strategies, skills and confidence they need to deliver safe, supportive and evidence-based teaching practices.

We believe in continuous learning and that the profession of teaching benefits greatly from lessons gathered from experience. As such, YarraMe’s courses are based on what we’ve learned from decades of practice.

Our professional learning courses contribute towards maintaining Proficient Teacher registration in Victoria and address the following descriptors in the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers:
  • Descriptor 1.5: Develop teaching activities that incorporate differentiated strategies to meet the specific learning needs of learners across the full range of abilities
  • Descriptor 1.6: Design and implement teaching activities that support the learning and participation of learners with disability and address relevant policy and legislative requirements
  • Descriptor 4.1: Establish and implement inclusive and positive interactions to engage and support all learners in classroom activities
