Outreach Services

Informed by the Feasibility Study and the 2019-2021 Strategic Plan, YarraMe School Outreach programs have been developed to
assist mainstream schools in building the capacity of teaching staff to better understand and support the needs of students with social, emotional and behavioural issues.
The Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is a proative and preventative framework that integrates data and instruction to maximise student achievement and support students' academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs from a strength based perspective.
The MTSS framework uses tiered supports:
- Data based decision making
- Personalising supports for students
- Building Teacher confidence and skills
- Strengthen universal approaches
YarraMe School Special Education teachers use a range of inclusive supports including a trauma informed approach to assist schools in the development of personalising learning plans and behaviour management plans for students in need.
YarraMe Special Education teachers work in collaboration with referring schools in a coaching role to develop a broader range of strategies to support presenting with social and emotional needs.
Please note: The referring school is required to seek written parent consent for the Outreach service to be undertaken by YarraMe staff. Schools can provide information for the Outreach service as de-identified cases or with parent/carer consent to share information with YarraMe School.
